Prince Harry Back to Britain

Prince Harry is now back in Britain after having his deployment in Afghanistan cut-short unexpectedly after the news of his deployment got leaked out on the internet by a US website, breaking the agreement between British media and the defence ministry not to publish the whereabouts of the prince for security reasons. In an interview, the prince said he was "slightly dissappointed" being back home so early. He also added that he’d love to go back there very soon. Unfortunately, according to his commanding officer it is quite impossible to happen for at least 18 months since the prince had just had a deployment.

Below is an excerpt of an article about an interview on the prince after his return:

"In interviews soon after his return, Harry spoke matter-of-factly about his work calling in air strikes, patrolling and firing at insurgents in Helmand province, in southern Afghanistan.

‘You do what you have to do, what’s necessary to save your own guys. If you need to drop a bomb, worst case scenario then you will, but then that’s just the way it is,’ he said.

‘It’s not nice to drop bombs… but to save lives that’s what happens.’

But he rejected the tag of "hero", amid fulsome praise for his work from British political and military leaders and the media.

‘I wouldn’t say I’m a hero at all. I’m no more a hero than anyone else. If you think about it there’s thousands and thousands of troops out there,’ he said.

Two unconscious, badly injured soldiers—one of whom lost an arm and a leg to a landmine—were on his plane home, he told reporters.

‘Those are the heroes,’ he said.

He also said that during his time at an operating base just 500 metres (1,600 feet) from Taliban positions, he felt secure because there was "no place safer" to be than in the presence of Gurkhas.

’Everyone is really well looked after here by the Gurkhas, the food is fantastic—goat curries, chicken curries … it’s really good fun,’ he added." Read Full article HERE..

Prince Harry the Soldier

Over the week news about the Prince Harry’s deployment in Afghanistan has been the talk perhaps all over the world. Everyone might have been surprised to know that this young royalty is actually in a place  of combat and is serving as an ordinary soldier. And now that the world has known this secret deployment of the prince to Afghanistan, Prince Harry has been ordered to go back to Britain and is on his way back home this Saturday. The prince stay in Afghanistan was set for 10 weeks and his tour was supposed to end on April. He flew for  Afghanistan on December 14, and spent several weeks in Garmsir in Helmand province, operating just 500 metres from frontline Taliban positions.

Below is an excerpt a detailed article about Prince Harry’s deployment and his journey back to Britain:

Prince Harry in Afghanistan In one interview, the prince said there had been jokes about his nickname—"bullet magnet"—and acknowledged his tour could make him a "top target" for extremists.

"Every single person that supports them will be trying to slot me," he said.

But he said he enjoyed being away from the glare of media publicity he faces at home, adding: "I think this is about as normal as I’m ever going to get."

Queen Elizabeth II praised her grandson, saying he had done "a good job in a very difficult climate", while British Prime Minister Gordon Brown described him as an "exemplary soldier (who) is serving with dedication in the finest tradition of our armed forces."

**************** Personal Comment**********************

I think Prince Harry’s deployment in Afghanistan is something good.Yes, it is risky because it is a hostile place and his life is always in danger but he was totally brave and still decided to do it. Now that he’s in the military service, he more disciplined and responsible. Being a soldier made him  a better person. A person different from the one who’s always on the paper because of drinking, drugs or all the other bad things he did. Now, he is really Prince responsible and concerned for others. A real Prince, charming, brave and strong looking as a knight-in-shining-armor!emoticon [although, i like his brother better.hehehe emoticon]

Heath Ledger’s Death Cause Revealed

Last night, I saw the news about the cause of death of the famous hollywood actor, Heath Ledger. According to the news, the cause of death of the actor was due to drug overdose. The actor took different prescription drugs which caused him his death.

Here is the deatailed article from CNN.com:

(CNN)—Heath Ledger died from an accidental overdose of prescription medications including painkillers, anti-anxiety drugs and sleeping pills, the New York City medical examiner’s office said Wednesday.

Heath Ledger"Mr. Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine," the office said in a short statement.

"We have concluded that the manner of death is accident, resulting from the abuse of prescription medications."

Hydrocodone and oxycodone are painkillers. Diazepam is an anti-anxiety drug commonly sold under the brand name Valium; alprazolam is also an anti-anxiety drug sold under such names as Xanax. Temazepam, sold under such names as Restoril and Euhypnos, is a sleeping agent. Doxylamine, an antihistamine, can be obtained over the counter as a sleep aid.

Actor Heath Ledger, 28, died January 22 at an apartment in Lower Manhattan.

=====================================================

Too much dependence on drugs and being careless of taking them in I guess is really not ideal, and bad for your health. So, actors should really stop taking different medications at the same time. They must take it one and a time (which also means to take ‘em in at the rigth time). A little sacrifice would not hurt. It would be better to suffer from pain than die the next day just because you can’t take in the pain for a while.

Heath Ledger’s Autopsy Report

heath ledgerNEW YORK - A rolled-up $20 bill was found near Heath Ledger’s body, though no illegal drugs were found in his apartment, police said Wednesday the same day an autopsy on the "Brokeback Mountain" actor came back inconclusive.

The bill would be taken to a lab for testing, though no visible drug residue was found on it, police said. NYPD Commissioner Ray Kelly released the information at a Manhattan news conference, but did not elaborate on whether police think the bill, discovered on the floor near Ledger’s bed, may have been used to snort drugs.

The Australian-born actor was found dead Tuesday by his housekeeper and a massage therapist  lying naked and face-down on the floor at the foot of his bed, police said. Prescription sleeping pills and anti-anxiety pills were found in bottles in Ledger’s bedroom and bathroom, and police said the death was caused by a possible drug overdose and appeared to be accidental.  Read more..

Hannah Montana got Caught using Body double during her concert tour

NEW YORK - The body double was only on stage for a few seconds, and the switcheroo was relatively innocuous. But since it involved the "Hannah Montana" show ƒ‚ the sold-out tour for which tickets have been scalped for hundreds of dollars ƒ‚ even the use of a brief stand-in for its star, 15-year-old Miley Cyrus, was enough to cause plenty of buzz when video of the switch was posted on the Internet.

"This tour is such a phenomenon everybody is trying to find some angle to write about it," said Gary Bongiovanni, editor-in-chief of Pollstar, the trade publication that tracks tours. "This tour was the phenomenon of 2007 and it’s still going strong in 2008."

A video posted on YouTube shows the 15-year-old entertainer, who stars on the hit Disney TV show "Hannah Montana," onstage as her character, dancing and singing onstage with a group of dancers and the Jonas Brothers, also on the "Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus ‘Best of Both Worlds’" tour.

During the song, someone ushers her offstage via a trap door. Immediately, another girl dressed like the character "Hannah" in the same pink trench coat with blonde hair covering her face dances around, runs up stairs on the stage set and then quickly leaves the stage.

While the double is holding a microphone for her less than a minute, the girl motions like she is singing. However, a rep for Miley said the switch was only for costume purposes.

"To help speed the transition from Hannah to Miley, there is a production element during the performance of ‘We Got the Party’ incorporating a body double for Miley," according to statement from the public relations firm PMK, which represents Miley.

"After Hannah has completed the featured verse on the duet with the Jonas Brothers, a body double appears approximately one to two minutes prior to the end of the song in order to allow Miley to remove the Hannah wig and costume and transform into Miley for her solo set. Other than during this very brief transitional moment in the show, Miley performs live during the entirety of both the Hannah and Miley segments of the concert."

Some fans were supportive, but others decried the body double as fakery. But Bongiovanni, who said the use of body doubles is not uncommon in touring shows, said there was nothing dishonest about it.

"It takes a few moments at least to change costumes, and they are trying to do it to give you the almost ‘David Copperfield gee-whiz’ effect," he said. "There are absolutely laws of physics that prevent you from doing gee-whiz things without some hocus-pocus."

Miley’s "Hannah Montana" tour is one of the nations hottest tours, selling out within minutes when tickets went on sale last fall. While some lucky fans were among them, some were ticket brokers who have resold tickets for hundreds, even thousands of dollars on Web sites.

Some parents were willing to pay up to satisfy their children; others complained about the difficulty of getting tickets. And one parent did the unthinkable, helping her 6-year-old daughter write an essay claiming her father died in Iraq in order to win a contest for concert tickets. The prize was stripped away once the truth was revealed.

Miley has released two albums under the "Hannah Montana" brand, both of which have sold more than two million copies.
